This is the first part of my paper cut-outs illustrations which I currently teach. The subject are among others birds and the reflection.
Das ist der erste Teil von meinen Scherenschnittillustrationen die ich zur Zeit unterrichte. Das Thema des Workshops sind unter anderem Vögel und die Spiegelung.
„The Polish paper cut-outs are a very special sort of art. They appeared for the first time 150 years ago in small villages of Masovia- close to Warsow, Otwock and Czersk as a modest way of decorating the timbered ceilings and the walls of rooms. Later there was a period of vivid development. They were shifted from the walls of huts to ethnographic museums and displaying galleries. Nowadays in villages they are present as a part of the Polish culture, consciously kept up by a small group of women, cutting out for exhibitions and competitions, for private collections in Poland abroad as well as for decorating „rural residences“- very trendy nowadays. No other Eurpean culture knows this form of art.
Scherenschnitte bilden in der polnischen Volkskunst eine besondere Gattung. Vor mehr als 150 Jahren tauchten sie zum ersten mal in der Gegend von Warschau in den Dörfern Masowiens Otwock und Czersk als ein einfaches Dekorelement an Deckenbalken und Wänden zur Ausschmückung von Bauernstuben auf. Danach erlebten sie eine stürmische Entwicklungsperiode. Von den Wänden der Bauernstuben wanderten sie in die Sammlungen ethnographischer Museen und Kustgalerien. Heute existieren sie auf dem Lande nur noch als Teil der polnischen Kultur, die nur noch einige wenige Frauen bewusst pflegen, um sie für Ausstellungen und Wettbewerbe, für Privatsammlungen im In- und Ausland oder zur Dekoration heute modischer Land- Residenzen anzufertigen. Keine andere Kultur in Europa kennt heute eine solche Form des künstlerischen Schaffens.“
